PhD-student (MD) Clinical cardiomyopathy studies in PLNR14del carriers (1,0fte)

In the Northern part of the Netherlands we have a large founder population carrying the PLNR14del mutation. These carriers are prone to develop arrhythmias and dilated cardiomyopathy  resulting in heart failure. Disease development is heterogeneous with some carriers developing it at a young age while others are only affected later in life. The proposed clinical study involves collecting and analyzing ECHO and MRI data, from PLNR14del carriers from multiple centers in the Netherlands. Explore novel biomarker and genetic data and link them to disease parameters in this patient population. Conducting/coordinating a therapeutic clinical study using a novel agent will also be part of the tasks.

Needed skills

  • You can participate and coordinate the formentioned studies
  • You have expertise with sample and data collection and analysis
